Our Organization


Jim von Tungeln, AICP

President and Chief Operating Officer of the firm. He has Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Arkansas in Little Rock. He has 34 years experience in planning in the State of Arkansas. He also served on both the Little Rock City Beautiful Commission and the Little Rock Planning Commission. He is a past member of the Executive Board of the Arkansas Chapter of the American Planning Association. He is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and a frequent speaker on planning topics. He has completed the certificate program in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) from Penn State University. He is also the planning and zoning consultant for the Arkansas Municipal League and writes a column in their monthly publication, City and Town.

James Walden

James received his Bachelor of Arts in Geography and Anthropology from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. He is currently working towards his Masters in Public Administration from the Univeristy of Arkansas at Little Rock. James has worked previously for planning departments in Bentonville, Arkansas and Fayetteville, Arkansas. At Urban Planning Associates, Inc. James heads up the firm's growing GIS division and serves as a project manager within the planning division. 

Ryan Driggers

Ryan received his Bachelor of Arts in Geography from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. His responsbilities at Urban Planning Associates, Inc. include mapping, dataset and database design, data collection and analyzation, and participating in the writing and researching of planning documents.

 

Sarah Clark

Sarah received her Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, taking classes in the UNC Graduate School of City and Regional Planning as an undergraduate. She is a graduate student at the Clinton School of Public Service, where she is pursuing a Masters in Public Service. She has interned for the City of Little Rock Parks and Recreation Department and Planning and Development Department. As an intern with the Planning and Development Department she worked to update Neighborhood Action Plans and research modern planning tools and strategies.  Sarah's responsibilities at Urban Planning Associates, Inc. include preparing histories; collecting and synthesizing data; analyzing city trends; and participating in the writing and editing of planning documents.
